Compost is a dark, crumbly, earthy-smelling mixture that consists mostly of decayed organic matter. Compost is often mixed into the soil to make it richer for growing plants. Excellent for use on new lawns and overseeding projects, building raised beds when mixed with topsoil, and increasing drainage and soil tilth.
