This patriotic program was started in 1999, featuring a sidewalk of bricks engraved with the names of local war veterans to memorialize their names in front of the Congress Park War Memorial. The walkway is an extension of this important space where the City holds patriotic dedication ceremonies and gatherings with music, various speakers and refreshments. DPW oversees this ongoing program by offering a veteran's family and friends an opportunity to purchase a brick for $50. To date, over 2,000 bricks have been dedicated. The bricks are engraved with the Veteran's name, rank and branch of service. Proceeds from the sale of the memorial bricks are used to fund future maintenance and upkeep of the War Memorial.
