The City Clerk’s Office is responsible for issuing licenses for a variety of things. You will find the applications for the licenses under Forms & Permits.
For those licenses that require insurance, please be advised that the worker’s compensation form (Form #C-105.2) and the NYS Disability form (Form # DB-120.1) are not available from the City’s web site. These forms are available from your insurance carrier. If you need further information, contact the City Clerk’s Office. Certificates of Residency:
If you have not resided in the City of Saratoga Springs or have not resided at the same address in the City for one continuous year, you must go to the Saratoga County Treasurer’s Office located in Ballston Spa to obtain your Certificate of Residency. The City Clerk’s Office is only allowed to issue a Certificate of Residency within the date range set by the Saratoga County Treasurer’s Office. Please check your college’s deadline date to determine if you are eligible to obtain a Certificate of Residency from the City of Saratoga Springs or if you must obtain it from the Saratoga County Treasurer’s Office. Elections: The general election is held annually the first Tuesday of November. Hours are 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Information on registering, absentee ballots and polling locations are available at the Saratoga County Board of Elections. Marriage License: If you are under the age of 18, please contact the City Clerk’s Office. Marriage Certificates: Birth Certificates: A copy of a birth certificate for an individual not born in the City of Saratoga Springs may be obtained from the city/town/village clerk where the individual was born. If you are not able to determine where the individual was born, a copy may be requested from the New York State Department of Health. Death Certificates: A copy of a death certificate for an individual who did not die in the City of Saratoga Springs may be obtained from the city/town/village clerk where the individual died.
