The Commissioner of Finance is the Chief Fiscal Officer (CFO) of the City of Saratoga Springs. The duties of the Commissioner include: first substitute for the Mayor, City Tax Collector, Bursar of City Funds, Internal Auditor, Custodian of City Monies, Keeper of City Financial Records, Budget Chairperson and Certifier of City Payrolls.
The Commissioner of Finance is the Department Head of the Finance Department which, in addition to the above functions, includes IT (Information Technology).
Payment of Taxes and Utility Bills
Paying in Person: You may pay your taxes and utility bills in person at the Office of Tax Collection located on the first floor of City Hall. [Please note: We do not currently accept credit or debit cards in office. You may pay via check or cash.]
Paying by Mail: You may pay your taxes and utility bills by mail. Please send to P.O. Box 328, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. [Please note: Payments received via mail must be postmarked prior to the due date. If your payment is received late and postmarked after the due date, your payment will be sent back and a penalty will be added. Penalties vary - if you have questions, please reach us at 518-587-3550 ext. 2565].
Paying Online: You may pay your taxes and utility bills online. Please follow the link below to be directed to the 'Online Payments & Property Tax Search' page.
- You can verify an amount due by visiting the “Online Payments” link above.
- Searching by SBL number will provide you a tax history of previous payments made and taxes due.
- You may also use the above link to view previous payments dating back to 2003.
