Tax Collection

The City of Saratoga Springs’ Office of the Commissioner of Finance collects City and County property taxes, Water and Sewer bills for users of the Saratoga Springs water system and delinquent School taxes for residents of the City of Saratoga Springs.

City and County taxes are billed annually by the City in February. They can be paid quarterly or to receive a discount of 2.25% in full on or before March 1. Full year payment taking advantage of the 2.25% discount must be made at the Finance office in City Hall, online, or at any Adirondack Trust Company. Full year payment with the discount must be made at one-time, in a single lump sum, on or before March 1st. A full year payment made without the discount, even if on or before March 1st, will be accepted as is, with no refund or adjustment.

Utility bills are mailed quarterly by the Utility department in January, April, July, and October. The delinquent School taxes are turned over to the Office of the Commissioner of Finance in March of each year. City and County taxes, as well as Utility bills may be paid in person at the Office of Finance in City Hall, by mail, or online. These payments can also be made at any Adirondack Trust Co. You must have your tax stub to make payments at these locations.  Delinquent School taxes may be paid in person at the Office of Finance in City Hall, by mail, or online.
