Licensing Taxi Drivers and Taxi Owners in the City of Saratoga Springs
The City of Saratoga Springs licenses taxi drivers and owners in accordance with standards adopted by the Capital District Transportation Authority, the NYS Legislature and local and regional Chambers of Commerce throughout the Capital District Area. The model ordinance adopted by the City allows a competitive uniformity for taxi cabs operating throughout the Capital District Region.
The City has additionally adopted the “Taxi Passenger’s Bill of Rights” universally accepted throughout the Capital Region. This “Taxi Passenger’s Bill of Rights” must be prominently posted in each and every taxicab that does business within the City’s limits. Any passenger who has experienced a negative interaction with a taxicab driver and/or owner within the City of Saratoga Springs should contact 911 if it involves a law enforcement matter or the City’s Code Enforcement Division at (518) 587-3550 extension 2634 in the Department of Public Safety to file a written complaint that may be thoroughly investigated and remediated.
