City-Operated Public Charging Stations

Department of Public Works manages the two dual port charging stations. Questions regarding these stations should be directed to the Department of Public Works.

Woodlawn/Conley Way Station: Woodlawn/ Conley Way Parking Garage was one of several stations to be installed throughout the Capital Region by the Capital District Transportation Committee’s Clean Communities Coalition, with the support of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). The station is located on the third level. It is free and has two level 2 charging ports.

Woodlawn/Walton Parking Garage: Woodlawn/Walton Ave Parking Deck was funded through the Department of Environmental Conservation’s Municipal Zero-emission Vehicle (ZEV) & ZEV Infrastructure Rebate Program. The station is free and has two level 2 charging ports.

Charging Station Programs

New York State offers several charging station programs that provide incentives and discounts on the installation of charging stations. Find the one that applies to you.

Charge Ready NY

Through Charge Ready NY, NYSERDA provides rebates of $4,000 per charging port for Level 2 charging stations installed at public, workplace, and multi-unit dwelling parking lots.

New York State Tax Credit for Public and Workplace Charging

New York State provides an income tax credit of up to $5,000 for the purchase and installation of an electric vehicle charging station. The credit is targeted at commercial and workplace charging stations. The tax credit is available through the end of 2022.
