The ceremony, hosted by Mayor Meg Kelly, will be held at the Tempered by Memory sculpture at 8:30 a.m.
The observance begins with a welcome from Raymond F. O’Conor, Author and CEO of Saratoga National Bank. A color guard from the Saratoga Springs Police Department and Saratoga Springs Fire Department will follow.
A moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. will symbolize when the first plane hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The National Anthem will be sung by Keri Alonzo, and other music will be provided by Rick and Sharon Bolton. The keynote speech will be delivered by Patrick Kauth, the son of local 9/11 hero Don J. Kauth (who passed at age 51 while employed by Keefe, Bruyette & Woods).
Comprised of five pieces of twisted steel from the 2001 terrorist attacks, the Tempered by Memory sculpture was created by Noah Savitz in collaboration with John Van Alstine.
Please join us, to remember.
