Important information below from the Governor regarding taxes, health and life insurance, as well as an update County. Please note that due to the County's lack of tests, the slow rate of increase should not be an indicator of the virus and its spread.
From Governor Cuomo:
Schools statewide will remain closed until at least April 15th. We will reassess whether to continue closures at that time. School districts will be required to continue child care, meal and distance learning programs
.
New Yorkers without health insurance can apply for a health plan through NY State of Health. If you recently lost employer coverage, you must apply within 60 days of losing that coverage. Because of loss of income, New Yorkers may also be eligible for Medicaid, the Essential Plan or Child Health Plus.
For a 90-day period, New Yorkers experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19 may defer paying life insurance premiums. Late payments will be payable over a one-year period. Additionally, consumers and small businesses experiencing Coronavirus-related financial hardship may defer paying premiums for property and casualty insurance for a 60-day period. This includes auto, homeowners, renters and other kinds of insurance. (No late fees will be assessed and there will be no negative impact to your credit.)

From Saratoga County:
UPDATE: COVID-19 Information for Saratoga County
Ballston Spa, NY - The Saratoga County Department of Public Health today announced that there are 93 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Saratoga County at this time. There are 10 individuals hospitalized.
The slower rate of increase in confirmed cases is related to the limited availability of tests in the region, not necessarily a “flattening of the curve.” The virus continues to spread throughout the community, and it is important that everyone continues to take precautions to protect themselves.
The availability of testing at local hospitals remains limited and criteria for testing has become more stringent. Residents who are experiencing symptoms should call their doctor and if the criteria is met, testing will be ordered. Because testing may be delayed, it is important that everyone continue to minimizing in-person interaction with others, practice social distancing, practice good hand hygiene and stay home as much as possible.
