Last week, NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo outlined the 10 Regions throughout the State and the 7 requirements/criteria each of these regions will need to meet before starting the Phase 1 Reopening once the NY ON PAUSE expires on May 15th.

The City of Saratoga Springs and Saratoga County are part of the Capital Region and currently the Capital Region only meets 5 of the 7 requirements to be able to start Phase 1 of the reopening of businesses. The 7 requirement metric is on a rolling basis so as soon as the Capital Region hits all 7 requirements on or after May 15th, Phase 1 may begin.

The City of Saratoga Springs is aggressively working with all of our neighboring towns, municipalities and counties to develop the Phased-In Reopening Plans and to meet the remaining requirements the Governor has set. One of the requirements is the need for Contact Tracers, Saratoga Springs Police and Fire Departments are putting forth 20 sworn personnel to be trained as contact tracers to help Saratoga County reach the required number of tracers per County population. The below information will help businesses get prepared to move forward as we strive to reach each phase. We will continue to provide updated information as we get it.
